Blue Orange Green Pink Purple

“To my mind, the greatest reward and luxury of travel is to be able to experience everyday things as if for the first time, to be in a position in which almost nothing is so familiar it is taken for granted.” – Bill Bryson

Many life experiences have led me to this place and time… join me as I spend a summer in a small village in Greece where generations of my family have lived and where I now hope to put down a few roots. Along my journey I will write letters to you to share my experiences and hopefully inspire you to create your own wherever you live or travel…

The Watermill

We had a lovely dinner tonight with Father Michael and Maria at The Watermill in the neighboring village of Pidima. This restaurant is surrounded by a small stream filled with swans and ducks. The patio is covered with arbors and it is a nice cool place to enjoy dinner in the evening. A small bridge crosses over to a playground for the children and Kolya quickly made a bunch of new friends to run around and play with. The restaurant is cafeteria style and self service, so you set your own table and bring your family style meal out on a big tray. Their menu is limited but they are the best at what they offer including chicken and macaroni with Mizythra cheese, french fries, salad, bread and feta cheese. Of course the company again always makes the night!
