Dear Friend,
I thought you might like a tour of our home here in Arfara, Greece. Most of our time is spent outside or in the kitchen, so I'll show you the kitchen first. Our house is quite old... well at least according to American standards. The village of Arfara used to be located further up the mountain, but as the village became more crowded, residents moved further down to where the center of Arfara now lies. However, parts of Arfara still remain there.
A few years ago, my Aunts had radiators put in for the first time. Before that, there was a wood stove in the corner of the kitchen where the table stands. The stove provided heat for only the immediate area and my Aunts would have to huddle under heavy wool blankets to keep warm while they slept on the other end of the house.
Thanks for visiting!
XOXO,
Karen June
love the pictures...the kitchen is very pretty & is much bigger than I imagined!
You read my mind. I was so hoping to see the inside of your family home. I can see why you love the kitchen. May we be able to join you sometime in the future. I love the blue ocean water, you'll have to take a few pics at the beach one morning. We leave for Dinsey soon!
