Spending a summer in my Aunt's village has been on my bucket list since my first trip here in 1997. Of course I pictured my summer spending time with my Aunts Irene, Theodora, Martha and Voula, but unfortunately the timing was not right for that. Staying in their house among their things... the gardens they planted, the orange trees they watered each evening, the rugs and blankets that they made by hand and sitting on the veranda with their friends are only a small consolation, but beautiful and meaningful ones nonetheless.
I think it is important to have a bucket list. There is a certain power in putting your dreams on paper or saying them aloud. I'll share a few I've yet to realize...
1. Spend a year abroad as a family.
2. Speak a foreign language fluently.
3. Live for a week with an Amish family.
4. Live in a loft apartment.
5. Attend Culinary School.
6. Live on a farm and raise goats and miniature horses.
7. Become a Store Window Designer.
8. Learn to paint.
9. Publish a book.
10. Learn to play the guitar.
11. Get a tattoo.
12. Meet Dolly Parton.
What is on your bucket list?
XOXO,
Karen June
Not into bucket list but do believe in setting goals, my list has changed over time. One on mine is hot air baloon ride. I also have a long list of things I want to make sure I do with my children before they become adults :)I want to make sure they get to go camping, national parks, canada, back to russia just to name a few
I don't have a tatoo either but I'm willing to go with you - Becky :)
May have to take you up on that Becky :)
I LOVE Dolly Parton. And, much to Bill's amusement, have been toying with the tattoo idea for my 40th birthday. I just can't decide what design would look good as it stretches...
